This was a fun fire page to wake you up at the pleasant hour of 1:24am.
While on route to the fire it looked as if the mountainside was going up in a ball of flames — daunting. The structure was on a steep hillside surrounded by redwoods and neighbor homes. It was definitely a good workout dealing with the hill in full turnouts with SCBAs, hoses, tools, etc. We got the fire under control and were out there ‘till sunrise doing overhaul...then we had more work to do once we got the engines back to the station...
Now I need to get cleaned up and head off to my real job (I do this as a volunteer) … I can only imagine the pile of work that’s already starting to buildup Sorry about being late...
