Sunday Post #9

I remember in high school and sitting back in class wondering what life would be like years later when I actually had to 'make a living'. It stressed the the crap out of me. I didn't want a life of uninspired routine, working day in and day out, limited and in the office from 9-5 in a half-asleep state of submission. Then, one day it hit me; "Who ever said that making a living has to be that way? I have a choice, and I can define what I want to do to make a living and actually enjoy it!" It was that moment of "A-Ha!" that has continued to steer the direction and development of my career. It became clear that personal satisfaction was going to be the direct result of my own personal leadership...and on that note, here's this week's Sunday Post:

"Effort, creativity, problem solving and determination given freely by people are the foundation of a high performing team. Weak leaders instruct people to do a job; strong leaders get much more out of people by dovetailing each individual's self-interest with the team's and the organization's goals. ... Personal alignment is probably the single most effective remedy for stress and dissatisfaction in the workplace and beyond. A high level of personal alignment gives you the charisma, congruence and vision that will inspire the people in your care to act effectively."

Sunday Post #8

I believe that what we set our minds out to achieve, we achieve. If we expect something bad to happen, something inevitably bad will happen. Knowing this, what if we want to attract more positive experiences into our life? Simply, if we expect good things to come to us, and put the energy and focus into making these "good" things happen, goodness will manifest. I firmly believe that by setting our focus on abundance and gratitude while incorporating the techniques and practices detailed in Stephen Covey's 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, success will be the outcome.

"We all want better financial conditions and we should have them. Here is the way to obtain them: Do not talk about financial lack, but begin thinking in terms of the rich, universal abundance that is everywhere. Then learn to let go, ..., to make room for the things you have ... worked for and so strongly desire. As you give up and cast away old ideas, attitudes, ... and put in their place new ideas of prosperity and progressive achievement, your conditions will steadily improve. ... Just as children outgrow their clothes, you outgrow former ideals, broadening your horizons of life as you advance."

Sig P226R

The Sig P226R is an amazing firearm! The P226 has an interesting history; Navy SEAL Teams started using the SIG P226 in the 1980's. Of course, Navy SEALs use an extensive array of firearms of both U.S. and foreign manufacture. However, there's something fun about using a combat firearm for precision target practice. The P226 has also been chosen as the handgun of choice by many law enforcement agencies throughout the U.S. and world for its durability, performance, safety and precision.

Oh yeah, notice the steady hand when firing ;-) If you look closely at the dirt berm behind the target you'll see dirt flying in the air where the bullet struck the ground.
